PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Diagnostic and therapeutic activities are carried out under the supervision of Clinical Tutors and involve progressively increasing levels of autonomy, in accordance with the 2024 Regional Protocol on specialist training, that requires progressive autonomy (from grade 1 to 3) under the supervision of expert physicians

 

Endocrine system

  • Thyroid scintigraphy
  • Parathyroid scintigraphy

Urogenital system

  • Renal scintigraphy

Oncology

  • Whole-body bone scintigraphy in oncology
  • Whole-body scintigraphy with radioactive iodine
  • Oncological PET/CT
  • Procedures for radioguided surgery, e.g. sentinel lymph node detection, ROLL or SNOLL, etc.

Respiratory system

  • Pulmonary scintigraphy

Osteoarticular system

  • Whole-body bone scintigraphy for benign disease
  • Three-phase bone scintigraphy

Central nervous system

  • Brain SPET with receptor tracers
  • Brain PET

Cardiovascular system

  • Myocardial SPET

Inflammatory/infectious processes

  • Scintigraphy for infectious/inflammatory foci, e.g. PET/CT for inflammation/infection, scintigraphy with labelled leukocytes, etc.

Radiometabolic Therapy

Daily activities in nuclear medicine include patients' anamnestic evaluation, supervision of images acquisition, images assessment and supervised reporting, multidisciplinary meetings attendance,  research activites, radiometabolic therapy, radioprotection

 

FINAL THESIS

Experimental thesis, written in either Italian or English.
